Fitness Centres on Koh Samui

If you are looking to get fit and lean or want to lose some excess body weight and become healthier and more active then there are a plenty of gyms and fitness centres that can be found on Koh Samui, with new ones seemingly being built all the time.

With the amount of time you’ll be spending sunbathing by the pool or on the beach, it is understandable that you might want to work out so you can continue to look your best. A little extra around the waist line might be OK when you are back in the office, but when you are on the beach, it is not such a great look!

Whilst there are many outdoor activities on Koh Samui that will help to keep you healthy and toned, such as swimming, Muay Thai, scuba diving and mountain biking, for some people, the best place to train in order to stay in shape is inside a gym.

Right across the island you’ll find a number of specialised fitness centres and gyms that can help you to exercise on a regular basis, even whilst you are on holiday. If you happen to live on Koh Samui then using the air conditioned facilities of many gyms on the island offers a more comfortable environment in which to workout, especially during the day when the sun is at its hottest.

Many of the islands gyms offer monthly, weekly and daily membership rates. Some even offer big discounts if you pay for a 6 month or 12 month membership up front. Signing up for membership is normally fairly straightforward but they may ask to take a photocopy of your passport.

If you need some help and advice with your training or feel that you could benefit from a specialist workout program, then a number of gyms have personal trainers and gym instructors available (extra charges apply) to help assist you with your fitness regime.

As well as specialist gyms and fitness centres, many of the islands leading hotels and resorts all have fitness facilities, which will be free to use for guests of the hotel. Some resorts, such as the Four Seasons Resort and the Centara Grand Beach Resort, even let non residents use their excellent gym facilities, for a fee.
